BioI'm oldish and male, married and perfectly happy in my relationship. I can be funny. I can be mean. I can be your best friend. I can be mean. I WILL be verbose. I am conservative by nature. I probably have ideas you won't like. I will not rub your nose in them so long as you don't rub yours in my nose. If I post a rant, I'll cut it and write a warning. If you can't take opposing opinion, for God's sake (or yours if you're an atheist) don't read it! I will not judge your entire humanity on singular conceptual issues and your present stand on them. Please offer me the same respect or find a better match for yourself.
I expect friends to read at least one of my many posts on ocassion, and comment once in a blue moon, or the 21 day plan if you just want to use the new moon as reference. If you can't see yourself having that kind of time, I can't spend mine on you. If you want to play in this sandbox, make a comment to that extent. If I friend you, I will read and I will comment. If you're waiting for me to friend you, don't. I'm an old guy, most ljers are young girls. I don't take the risk of being seen as a potential problem, so I wait until asked. Call it chivalry, I would:) My current friends list can testify as to whether I'd likely be worth your time to friend. Ask a random donnick-cottagepatch kid if you like, they're as honest as honest can be, the lot of them.
All that said, I do welcome new friends, I'm just verbose and anal about people knowing what they're getting into. This is my day page, my out of body experience, my golden spittoon. I may whine, I may mope, I may scream aloud. I'm melancholy kids, that's the deal! But sometimes I can take myself less than seriously, and then I can be sorta fun.
I have a friends only writing journal, friends only fiction and a writing sampler for public perusal. All are linked on the front page under oidesque names.

Oh yea, the name. We had a dog named Nicky who inspired us to move to the country on his behalf. So we designed a feeble attempt at an English cottage, and surrounded it with cottage gardens, all of which is photographed and put on line so as to give the impression I'm an egomaniac; when really I just kinda like purdy stuff.
